You may absolutely pick my brain about St Andrews. It’s one of my favourite things to be brain-picked on.
Firstly, I love it. Really and truly love it. It’s the sort of place that you sort of have to love, because otherwise its flaws would get to you. In my eyes these include the following: too many right-wing privileged people, a somewhat limited night scene, and the fact it’s a very small place. But the solutions to these are easy: love to hate them, embrace The Bop, and appreciate the fact you will never walk down a street without seeing someone you know.
I enjoy the English Lit course, but that’s very subjective - it depends on your tastes. In terms of the way it’s taught and who teaches it, though, I can guarantee you’ll enjoy it if you’re a real book lover. Further information on the course can be found in this answer I gave to a similar question.
I wouldn’t say the price of living is significantly higher than at other universities, although admittedly accommodation can be a little pricey
My personal blog has other stuff I have to say about St Andrews in these posts (and many others). Hope I’ve helped!
